VARM, a Berlin-based climate tech startup transforming residential insulation, has announced a €17.5 million Series A funding round led by ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund and co-led by GET Fund, with participation from Aurum Impact and existing investors.

Founded in Berlin in 2023, VARM is addressing one of Europe’s biggest energy-efficiency challenges. Around 14 million German homes remain poorly insulated, and a shortage of qualified installers has slowed renovation efforts. VARM tackles this problem by recruiting and training new insulation specialists, making home energy upgrades faster, more accessible, and easier to scale.

At Ochi Design, we had the opportunity to partner with VARM on the design of its investor pitch deck.

Behind a simple promise to make homes more energy efficient is a sophisticated operation involving workforce training, installation logistics, government incentives, and a scalable expansion model. Our job was to make all of that feel intuitive in just a few slides.

Working alongside the VARM team, we designed an investor pitch deck that helped bring their story to life through thoughtful visual communication. We created custom diagrams to break down complex workflows, illustrated key concepts that were difficult to explain with words alone, and built a custom data visualization system that matched the boldness of the VARM brand.

Instead of asking investors to work through dense blocks of information, we let the visuals do the heavy lifting. Every diagram, illustration, and layout was crafted to make the presentation easier to follow, easier to remember, and ultimately more compelling.

The result was a pitch deck that helped communicate a complex business with clarity, confidence, and personality.
